This summer I had the pleasure of attending Config, Figma's annual conference, in person. This was my first time attending in person and it was amazing.

Catch up with these must-watch talks
There were so many amazing talks that I could never mention them all, but here were a few of my favorite takeaways, with their recordings so you can watch them, too, if you missed them:
Dylan Field announced some cool new stuff for Figma. It is Figma's conference after all, and as designers we spend our lives in this software, so makes sense to start here. I'm particularly excited about Flides. Oh, and everyone kind of lost their minds over the gen AI part.
Jesper Kouthoofd, founder, CEO, and head of design at Teenage Engineering, a true legend of design, famously answered "no" to Dylan Field's question about whether he believed in user research.
And last but certainly far from least, my favorite moment of Config came right at the very end: Jason Ballard is the founder and CEO of ICON, an incredibly cool company making affordable housing by building it with robots. What really stuck out to me was his focus on dignity as a design outcome.
Check out his incredible closing keynote here:
And it was a great event for Design Executive Council!
It was also a big milestone for us at Design Executive Council. A few of our members, Christina Goldschmidt from Warner Music Group, Purvi Shah from Target, and Alex Hsiao from CNN, spoke in a panel (in the Leadership track) moderated by Gordon Ching:
You can see me annoyingly taking photos there in the first row.
